G-Great (and fantastic) news Ballers: The G-train is officially back up and running over the F-line at times; the A-line at other times, the N\R lines on the weekends, and sections of the Q/B lines once in a blue moon - except in a Leap Year’s February, once-in-four, to remind us all that the Summer Olympics will soon be upon us once more.
According to the MTA Department of Scotch-Tape and Posters, the ‘G’ will continue to run as expected on most Wednesdays: lost and untraceable between the hours of Spring and Fall - and when it rains.
The McBallers of McCarren: And why is this of concern to us the Mighty McBallers of McCarren?
YesSirRef: Lads, think about it. - How was it yer man only goes and misses that tidy ‘sitter’ two yards out from goal last Wednesday night at d’LOVENYSOCCER Weekly Ball-Bash, I ask you?
The McBallers of McCarren: Two yards out, you say?
YesSirRef: Two yards at a stretch. - With the goalmouth empty. - And there, splayed on the turf, further out, the opposition Goalie last seen picking daisies having just palmed away an earlier shot at goal. - Not one single defender nowhere in sight. And, the perfect ball served right into the lad’s feet, at pace!
The McBallers of McCarren: Has to score!
YesSirRef: You’d think so. - but what does yer man, this wide-eyed wannabe-baller go and do? Doesn’t he only go and blems the ball 14 foot up in ta air. - Up over the crossbar and out across the running track to where it lands in an open garbage can - sending a well-toothed pack of rats racing across the hallowed turf at McCarren Stadium faster than an Olympic sprinter sporting the latest ‘look’ in athletic stretch-wear fashions.
The McBallers of McCarren: Rats alive! - But, what has this got to with the G-train latest?
YesSirRef: Absolutely Nothing. - just because the service appears perfect, it doesn’t mean you can take your eye off the ball until the job is done.
(Note: The LOVENYSOCCER Department of Research has reached out to the MTA for comment, and for a hard-boiled paper copy of their latest train schedule. No word back at the time of print.)
